Artist Terms
Back to onboardingThis page is a clear, human-readable summary of what artists agree to during onboarding. It’s intended to be transparent and easy to scan.
1) Rights & permissions
- You confirm you own the master recording or have explicit permission to upload it.
- You agree not to upload content you don’t own or don’t have permission to use.
- If you co-own masters, you agree to provide accurate splits totaling 100%.
2) Payout model (user-centric)
Shuffyl uses a user-centric payout model: each listener’s subscription is distributed only among the artists they actually listen to (after a platform fee).
3) No exclusivity
Shuffyl is non-exclusive. You can upload your music anywhere and you keep control of your career.
4) DMCA & community safety
- You agree to the DMCA / takedown policy and repeat-infringer policy.
- You agree your uploads can be removed if they violate rights or policies.
5) Content protection
- Shuffyl may use reasonable technical measures to limit unauthorized access, copying, or redistribution of uploads.
- Unless Shuffyl expressly agrees otherwise in writing, the service does not guarantee DRM or any specific anti-copying technology for your content.
- You acknowledge that no streaming or delivery method can fully prevent copying, rerecording, capture, or redistribution.
6) Monetization eligibility
- If you indicate you do not own the master recording, monetization is disabled unless rights are confirmed.
- If publishing control is set to No or Not sure, uploads remain allowed but monetization stays disabled until publishing control is set to Yes.
